Investment dialogue for scaling climate-responsive solutions in the Hindu Kush Himalaya

November 26-27, 2025

ICIMOD is hosting an investment dialogue in partnership with UNDP and the UNFCCC RCC Asia-Pacific which centres on mobilising financing for climate-resilient and nature-positive solutions in the Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH) under the Himalayan Resilience Enabling Action Programme (HI-REAP). Funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, the event brings together development partners, investors, and innovators to scale impactful regional initiatives and reinforce the entrepreneurial ecosystem for sustainable mountain development. ICIMOD has been known for its support to grassroots innovators, especially through the HKH Innovation Challenge for Entrepreneurs (HKH-ICE) and the recently formed HKH Investment Working Group, which the forum further builds upon.
Facing severe climate vulnerabilities and systemic challenges to finance, the Hindu Kush Himalaya region has seen entrepreneurs and community enterprises find it difficult to scale solutions. This two-day dialogue seeks to promote best practices on leveraging climate investments and challenge funds, explore strategies to underpin the green entrepreneurial ecosystem, and facilitate networks among investors, innovators, and development partners. Outcomes expected from this event include shared insights on financing models, clearer strategies for technical assistance and market linkages, and new partnerships that can unlock scale-up capital for climate-resilient innovation across the region.
