The “High-Level Dialogue & Peer-to-Peer Learning on Philanthropy for Climate Action in Malaysia” workshop is co-organized by UNDP, the Climate Finance Network, and the UK in Malaysia – British High Commission Kuala Lumpur, with support from Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (BPMB), the Climate Finance Innovation Lab (CFIL), and the Malaysia Impact Alliance (MYImpact).
This workshop will bring together philanthropic institutions, regulators, key private sector leaders, CSOs and climate experts to explore how philanthropic capital can serve as a catalyst for innovation within Malaysia’s climate finance ecosystem.
This dialogue is convened under the Climate Finance Network (CFN), a peer-to-peer network, knowledge management and technical support facility supported by the Government of Sweden and the UK’s Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office.
The event will explore actionable strategies to unlock philanthropic capital in advancing Malaysia’s climate goals at both national and sub-national levels.
The one-day session will convene key industry leaders, senior government officials, regulators, and relevant stakeholders in the philanthropy ecosystem to explore:
- Policy and legal landscape and frameworks that enable domestic and cross-border giving
- Innovative funding mechanisms and tax incentives to unlock philanthropic flows
- Opportunities to integrate philanthropy into Malaysia’s broader climate financing actions
