Examining climate capital for women-led MSMEs
19 February, 2026
Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are the backbone of economies across Asia and the Pacific. Many of these enterprises—especially micro-enterprises which bolster household incomes and essential local services in areas vulnerable to climate change—are led by women and operate in climate-exposed sectors, including informal trade, food systems, water access, and health services.
To that end, a webinar titled Climate Capital for Women-Focused MSMEs—part of the GCFC Strategy to Scale Webinar series—will examine the barriers limiting finance for women-focused MSMEs in adaptation and green investment. The webinar will also explore how financial instruments, risk-sharing arrangements, and product design features can better support resilience and sustainable adaptation, drawing on practical institutional and enterprise cases.
