Community Resilience Partnership Program

The Community Resilience Partnership Program (CRPP) helps countries and communities in Asia and the Pacific scale up investments in climate adaptation that explicitly target the nexus between climate change, poverty and gender.

Poor and vulnerable communities are disproportionately affected by climate shocks and stresses, requiring investments in adaptation measures that directly respond to their needs. However, limited climate finance reaches the local level.

CRPP aims to scale up pro-poor investments through adaptive social protection programmes, climate services for women farmers, community-driven development projects, community-based forest management and financial inclusion.

The CRPP is managed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), in close partnership with the International Institute for Environment and Development and the Huairou Commission, CRPP is:

  • Strengthening awareness and capacity of national and local institutions for pursuing climate risk-informed poverty reduction strategies across multiple sectors.
  • Supporting studies to inform the development and financing of investment projects that focus on pro-poor community-led adaptation.
  • Granting financing to governments and communities to encourage adoption of innovative solutions at community-level.
  • Increasing the meaningful participation of poor women and men in resilience-related decision-making.
